Well the holiday's must be over and it is back to life as usual......and what would be more unusual then a trip to the ER with Ian. Poor kid. First thing this morning he was helping me cut up kiwi and we had a little accident with the knife. Of coarse it was the super sharp, tomato knife. He started screaming and there was blood everywhere. After a quick inspection I knew it was deep and might need stitches so I went and quickly dressed and threw the kids in the car and headed to St. V's. Thankfully, Jeff was able to meet us there and take Ryan back home and then later he was able to go over to the Yahna's and spend some time with Jason and Ryder. I am so thankful that they were both available and able to help. Greg flew out to California early this morning so he got a frantic message after his plan landed. Luckily, by then we knew he was going to be okay. The doctor said "no stitches" which really shocked me. They basically cleaned it up, and put some special bandages on it and told me it would begin healing in 48 hours. I am so relieved. In retrospect I guess I over reacted and probably could have waited until our doctor or the urgent care opened. It is so hard to think logically in a crisis when it involves your kids and you are alone. He is a super brave little guy and I am so proud of him.
