Feb Goals

Here are my February Goals:

1 - try one new work out at least five times
2 - begin job search
3 - organize my clothes and closet
4 - organize kids clothes and closet

This month wasn't quite as successful as reaching my goals as last month.  Darn February with it's snow and sicknesses.  I did pretty well overall and there are still a few more days left so maybe.....

The first one was easy.  I signed up and have been trying out Star Cycle in Lake Oswego which is a version of Soul Cycle.  I have been 3 times and will be going again on Wednesday.  I also bought a groupon for a place called IM=X Pilates also in LO which I am going to my first private lesson next week. (close enough to Feb I decided).

I haven't done one thing towards a job search.  Well that's not technically true, I got a book from the library called the Job Search Solution, but I haven't even opened it. I guess this one will have to roll over into the next month.  I just want to start thinking about the kind of job I would like to get and when it would be a good time to ease back into the work force.

I must admit my closet was mostly organized already so it was just going through and getting rid of unused clothing which I did one weekend in about half an hour. As for the kids clothes and closet.  I have been working on their closets for about an hour each weekend and I am almost done.  I bought a new storage system and have been able to move most of the toys to the playroom and have their bedroom for sleeping, books, puzzles and games.  (more quiet activities) although with two five year old boys there is no such thing.

I am pretty pleased with February overall.  Just need to work on the job thing.

January Goals

Those of you that know me, know that I am slightly Type A (okay maybe a little more then slightly) and every year during December I start thinking about my new years resolutions and goals for the upcoming year.  In the past years I have typed out a list of my yearly goals, framed it and put it right in front of my computer where I can read them everyday.  (see Type A)!  This year I decided to change up the resolutions and instead of making years goals for myself I have made monthly goals.

Here were my January goals:
1 - organize and clean out the kids toys
2 - make large trip to goodwill to donate said toys
3 - start the Xtend Barre 60 day challenge
4 - organize my desk papers
5 - create a filing system to plan ahead for upcoming monthly events

January was a great month.  Isn't it always for goals!  We are all so motivated. I am happy to say I was able to get the toys cleaned out and donated.

I also started the Xtend Barre 60 day partner challenge.  I have 60 days to go to Xtend Barre 30 times and I am currently at 28 with 2 weeks left to go in the contest. There are many weeks I had to fit in 5 or 6 work outs because we were traveling many of the weekends.  I will be out of town the last week of the contest and my goal is to get to 35.  I won't win (not even close) but it's a great accomplishment for me.

My desk papers and filing system are in good working order.  I must admit that it still looks a bit unorganized but way better then a month ago so that is something.

All in all January was a great success!

An afternoon at the Museum (Children's that is....)

It's Sunday afternoon and we decided to meet Ryan's ex-schoolmate Shalin for a playdate at the Children's Museum.  We had such fun and the boys were on their best behavior (which is more then I can say for some of the adults there).  Really people....they are just kids....no need to get CRA CRA!  Here are a few cute pictures from our afternoon.

Thanksgiving Photo Shoot

My best Christmas present this year was pictures of my boys.  While we were in Bend our friend Erin Brundage Berg was having a drop in photo shoot and had an appointment open.  I told her we couldn't make it as our day was pretty busy, but Greg took the boys down without me knowing and got some amazing pictures taken. By far my favorite Christmas gift ever!  Thank you Greg and Erin for the amazing gift.

Bowling with Mimi

We went bowling with Mimi on Friday afternoon at Big Al's and had a great time.  It was a good game and Ian and I ended up with a tie.  Here are a few pictures of our afternoon.

Christmas Eve

We had a fun Christmas Eve celebrating a Beaver win and enjoying time with family and friends. The kids were allowed to open their presents from Nana and Grandpa and they had a blast doing it.  More pictures to come, this is just the tip of the iceburg!

Christmas Cookies

Christmas cookies are one of my favorite treats so I very rarely make them because I can't help but eat them all!  This year both the boys wanted to make sugar cookies for Santa and they also want to make sure we put out carrots (or snowman noses as Ryan says) for the reindeer so I figured we better get started.  I had 2 great helper chefs and the cookies turned out great!
